Es una de las comediantes premier de stand up en Español en Estados Unidos, abriendo shows a comediantes como Sofia Niño de Rivera y Carlos Ballarta. Elena hace shows por todo el país y su comedia ha sido presentada en el Washington Post y Telemundo. Elena Torres is an ex-telenovela actress turned stand up comedian. No, that is not a joke. After appearing on hit Mexican telenovelas: "Teresa", "La Que No Podia Amar" and "Por Siempre Mi Amor", Elena moved to United States and pursued stand up comedy. She is one of the premiere Spanish speaking stand up comedians in the country, having toured with comedians like Sofia Niño de Rivera and Carlos Ballarta. Elena's comedy has been featured in the Washington Post and Telemundo. SPRUNG! Comedy Festival is Silver Spring's very own comedy festival. Over four nights in March 2026, Improbable Comedy will present 10 unique shows of hilarious comedy at the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre, along with comedy classes and events.

About Improbable Comedy: Founded in 2012 by social-worker-turned-comedy-producer , Improbable Comedy has hosted hundreds of shows in local venues around the DMV. The goal has been to transform the industry by giving the mic to hilarious comedians who have been underrepresented on stage. Since our first show at Vicino's restaurant, we have brought big laughs to theatres, bars, swanky clubs, and people's homes. We now have regular shows at Busboys & Poets and the Arts Barn as well as partnerships with the Montgomery Parks Department and at the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre. Parking: The Black Box is a short walk from the Silver Spring metro and there is parking in the area garages on Ellsworth and Cameron St.

Accessibility: These shows will be ASL interpreted upon request. Please send any requests for ASL interpretation at least 10 days in advance to [email protected] and we will do our best to accommodate.The Black Box is ADA compliant with accessible bathrooms and devices for augmented hearing.

Concessions: The Silver Spring Black Box is theatre seating. We will sell light snacks and drinks in the lobby before the show.
