A 10-minute talk by Brontë author Eliz. Imlay leads into 'Elemental' T'Articulation's usual spoken word event. 4-min slots. All are welcome!
About this Event

Elizabeth Imlay will give a short ten-minute talk on how Charlotte Brontë used and reconfigured traditional associations regarding the Elements in her novel Jane Eyre. This will lead on to our themed spoken word event, where you are invited to share your own work, poetry or prose, on the theme of 'Elemental'. You can interpret the theme however you wish and do not need to follow Brontean tropes or write in the Gothic genre. Indeed, we would like you to surprise us -- just as long as your reading fits into a four-minute slot. If you don't wish to perform, you are still welcome to a seat in the audience.
Elizabeth will have her newly published book, Charlotte Brontë's Psyche, for sale during the break. Any other attendees wishing to bring their own books for sale at that time are welcome to do so.
The event itself is FREE, but we do ask that you buy a drink at the bar to support our generous hosts -- Judy and Ed. There will also be an exit bucket for any small change to help with our costs, but you are not at all obliged to contribute.
