About this Event
As the election creeps nearer, many of us are feeling increasing anxiety. Investment in the outcome from all sides is high. We don’t know what the results will be! Mindfulness enables us to acknowledge our present reality more fully and then move forward, taking responsibility for contributing to society in a positive way. Join us for this experiential and interactive session to help empower our individual and collective lives, ground ourselves in a good place, and come together in the service of reconciliation and goodwill.
Facilitator: Barry Nobel, JD, PhD has been teaching mindfulness for more than a quarter century. For two decades, he served as a mediator with Lane County. Barry has also taught mediation, ethics, communication, and religious studies in colleges and law schools in Oregon, Washington, and California. He was a co-founder of the Lane Institute of Faith & Ethics (LIFE). In the distant past, he maintained a solo law practice. Barry received his JD from the UO School of Law and his PhD from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His publications include Meditation & Mediation, Mindfulness in Judaism, Pursuing Peace: Hillel & Mindfulness-based Conflict Engagement, and Religious Healing in the Courts.
