Join us, June 15th 2026, 5:30 pm at Konehete Park, Murphy NC, for the Elder Abuse Awareness Walk
The Elder Abuse Awareness Walk is a community event dedicated to raising awareness about the growing issue of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation. This walk brings together community members, advocates, families, and local organizations to stand in support of older adults and promote dignity, safety, and respect for seniors. Through education, unity, and awareness, the event encourages communities to recognize the signs of abuse, speak up for vulnerable adults, and work together to protect and empower our elderly population. The walk serves as a reminder that every senior deserves to live free from fear, harm, and isolation.
The Hiwassee Dam Senior Center members will be helping with this event, As will Modern Woodmen of America, Linda May & I will have a table set up to provide an ice cream sundaes for everyone that walks.
