Hello Classmates, It’s hard to believe forty years has passed since we graduated from high school, but this Summer marks the time. I hope you are all well, healthy and enjoying life. Although we live scattered across country these days, it’s time for our forty-year reunion and I know we would love to see each other. Definitely 2021 has been a very strange year with Covid dominating the headlines so planning our reunion has been difficult to say the least. With the closure of many businesses, evolving health codes and social distancing rules, nobody is hosting large groups. So far, we have been unable to find an available venue for a traditional reunion event.

Your thoughts are requested so speak up. There is a group of dedicated classmates eager to make this reunion happen, though it seems unlikely we will be able to match the success of the 30 year. One option is to postpone our 40-year celebration until next year when hopefully things open up. Of course we are open to all ideas, but many of us want to meet up this summer, and there is already a set plan for July 9-11th in Dana Point We will connect with other El Toro alumni for a relaxing weekend together at the ETHS BEACH BASH 2021 .

July 9th ~ Friday Night - Harpoon Henry’s Restaurant
Join us from 5ish til closing for a social mixer at Harpoon Henry’s overlooking the Dana Point Harbor. They typically have a live band; the atmosphere is cool and the food is great.
July 10th ~ Saturday - Doheny State Beach
We have reserved "AREA 3" all day and into the night. Bring your whole family and join us for a great day at the beach, hang out with your classmates and friends, and most of all...HAVE FUN. AREA 3 includes plenty of grass, tables, BBQs and a fire ring. Bring Your Own Picnic or BBQ or enjoy yummy beach treats from the on-site Snack Bar. An alcohol waiver has been purchased so bring your favorites. There is plenty of extra room for lawn chairs and EZ Up tents. And if we don’t find a different venue for Saturday night, we’re planning on having a beach bonfire in the evening. Feel free to bring firewood, blankets, chairs and smores.

There is a small fee to enter and park at Doheny State Beach, but NO CHARGE to join us for the party.

Saturday Night Venue
We are searching for a place to host a more traditional reunion gathering for just our 1981 classmates on Saturday night July 10th (other dates considered) If anyone has a connection to a venue, restaurant or other suitable place, please let us know ASAP.
