About this Event
When Earth Meets AI: Smarter Tools for a Changing Planet
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere, but what does it really mean, and how does it impact everything? This presentation will go beyond buzzwords to explain how AI actually works—how machines learn, how AI finds hidden patterns and signatures, and how AI generates insights that can change the way we understand our environment and help us understand complex processes shaping our home planet.
The talk explores how AI is both a science and a creative process. It is presented by Trais Kliphuis (EnviTrace's CEO, a passionate environmentalist and practicing artist) and Velimir (“monty”) Vesselinov (EnviTrace's CTO, an AI expert, former Los Alamos National Laboratory scientist, and artist). Just as artists unveil new ways of seeing, AI can uncover what’s invisible to the human eye - offering tools for resilience, sustainability, and discovery.
Attendees will leave not only with a clearer understanding of AI’s inner workings, but also with a sense of how science and art together can spark fresh solutions for Earth’s toughest challenges. See how an artist’s eye and a scientist’s rigor can reveal what AI really is - and what it can do for our planet.
