El Pueblo Cuida al Pueblo

El Pueblo Cuida al Pueblo (The People Take Care of the People) is a celebration of resilience, collective care, and shared stories. Through this combined resource fair and live monologue performance from Motus Theater's Cristian Solano-Córdova, audiences of all backgrounds can learn about local nonprofits, build connections, and experience stories that reflect the immigrant community. The event welcomes neighbors, families, advocates, and allies to build community through both practical support and shared stories, creating space for reflection, conversation, and access to resources that strengthen collective well-being.

El Pueblo Cuida al Pueblo coincides with the Rough Gems exhibition In the Shadows, curated by Itau Ramos Hernandez, on view at Union Hall from August 20 - October 3.

About the Monologue Performance
ImmigrantAmerica: The Meaning of Courage - Cristian reflects on the fear of family separation experienced by his mixed-status family after the 2016 election. Recalling his mother carrying him and his sister to safety during their childhood journey across the border, Cristian defines courage not as the absence of fear, but as the choice to move forward with purpose despite it. The story honors the strength and love of immigrant families while inviting audiences to help build a country that truly offers liberty and justice for all.
