About this Event

The newest work by the Portrait Gallery’s choreographer-in-residence, Dana Tai Soon Burgess, entitled “El Muro” (The Wall in Spanish). “El Muro” explores the universal themes of acceptance and the quest for a place to call home. This thirty-minute modern dance performance featuring ten company members from the acclaimed D.C.-based company will be accompanied by live music from Martin Zarzar, formerly of Pink Martini. Free

The National Portrait Gallery requires that visitors five years of age and older show proof of vaccination to participate in public programs. All safety COVID-19 protocols, including mask-wearing and physical distancing, will be followed. Children under five are welcome to attend these programs but must wear a mask at all times.
