El Monte BLOOMS Birding Community Bike Ride

Join ActiveSGV for a free morning bike ride from the Jeff Seymour Family Center to Peck Road Water Conservation Park.

At the park, we will take a nature walk to learn about the plants and wildlife that live there alongside bird experts from the Natural History Museum. We will also explore the community science observations we are collecting with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and UCLA.

Please bring your own bike. E-bike reservations are not available for this ride.

Registration

Pre-registration is required for all participants. Each person attending, including family members, must register separately.

What to Bring

• Your own bike in good working condition
• Helmet, required for riders under 18
• Water bottle
• Sturdy, closed-toe shoes
• Comfortable clothing and light layers you can remove
• Hat and sun protection

Waivers and Guardians

Every rider must sign a waiver at the event before riding. For riders under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver, and a chaperone must be present. Riders without a signed waiver will not be able to ride.

Heat Policy

Participant safety is our top priority. Please bring a water bottle and stay hydrated before, during, and after the ride. We also encourage participants to get enough sleep the night before, eat a healthy breakfast, wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing, and apply sunscreen. If high temperatures or other extreme weather conditions are expected, the ride route, distance, start time, or duration may be adjusted to reduce heat exposure. Participants will be notified at least 24 hours in advance if the ride is modified, postponed, or canceled.

If rain is in the forecast, participants will be notified at least 24 hours in advance if the ride is postponed or canceled.

Waitlist Policy

If you are on the waitlist, you will have 24 hours after receiving an Eventbrite notification to register before it is offered to the next person on the waitlist.

Please note: Receiving a notification that a space has opened up does not reserve or guarantee your spot. Registration is first come, first served, and your spot is only confirmed once you successfully register through Eventbrite. Availability may change during the 24-hour window.
