The museum’s annual event celebrates life, remembrance and the enduring power of family and community.
This family-friendly event includes hands-on crafts, Lotería (a traditional Mexican game) and live performances from the Texas Tech and Coronado High School mariachi ensembles and the Lubbock High School Folklórico dancers. There will be refreshments, pan de polvo (Mexican shortbread cookies) and a nacho bar with queso. The planetarium will offer free shows every 30 minutes starting at 2 p.m.
Guests are invited to honor their loved ones by bringing copies – not originals – of photos to include in the community ofrenda.
