Synopsis
In 1990, Aquiles, a young Asháninka boy from the Peruvian jungle, is kidnapped from his community by the terrorist organization Shining Path. Forced to grow up within the group, he spends more than a decade surrounded by indoctrination, fear and violence.
As Aquiles is transformed from victim into combatant, he struggles to preserve his identity and hold on to the hope of escaping and finding his father. Inspired by real events, El corazón del lobo offers a powerful and deeply human portrait of a childhood stolen by conflict and the resilience required to survive it.
Directed by Francisco J. Lombardi and starring Víctor Acurio Sicha, Jared Vicente Sánchez, Silvana Díaz Goicochea and Paul Ramírez Vergara, El corazón del lobo was presented in the Official Competition of the 29th Málaga Film Festival, where Lombardi also received the Premio Retrospectiva in recognition of his career. The film is inspired by the novel El miedo del lobo by Carlos Enrique Freyre.
