About this Event

El Árbol de los Anhelos: A Codex of Human Rights is an ongoing calligraffiti project inspired by the 30 Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Combining illuminated-manuscript traditions with contemporary graffiti, this work transforms human-rights principles into large-scale painted “pages” of a living codex.

Join us for an intimate exhibition opening featuring the first works created in Houston with the support of an international cultural grant from Colombia. The evening includes an artist talk about the creative process, the symbolism behind the series, and the connection between diaspora, identity, and human rights.

A live painting session will take place during the event, and the completed piece will be raffled among attendees.
Free and open to the public.
