På grund af stor interesse afholder vi en ekstrakoncert lørdag den 11. oktober, så endnu flere kan opleve denne unikke hyldest til Bruce Guthro og hans musikalske arv.
Siden min opvækst på de vestlige øer i Skotland har jeg elsket traditionel skotsk musik. I 80’erne opdagede jeg Runrig og blev straks fanget.
Som musiker var jeg heldig at synge med Bruce Guthro og dele mange backstage-momenter fyldt med whisky, gode samtaler og sjove historier. Bruce var en af de første til offentligt at rose min musik, og hans ord gav mig selvtillid til at fortsætte min karriere.
Jeg vidste, at Bruce var syg, men hans styrke og privatliv omkring det var beundringsværdigt. Da nyheden om hans død kom, sad jeg ved klaveret, spillede hans sange og græd.
Da Industrien foreslog en hyldestkoncert, tøvede jeg, men mindet om Bruce og ordene "Der er kun én stemme i landet, der kan gøre dette" fik mig til at sige ja.
Publikum kan forvente en blanding af Bruces sange og Runrig-klassikere, fremført med intimitet og respekt. Jeg vil også spille hans sidste sang Can I Get an Amen samt en egen sang til hans minde.

Due to overwhelming interest, we are adding an extra concert on Saturday, October 11th, to give even more people the opportunity to experience this unique tribute to Bruce Guthro and his musical legacy.
Growing up in the Western Isles of Scotland, I have always loved traditional Scottish music. In the 80s, I discovered Runrig and was instantly captivated.
As a musician, I was fortunate to sing with Bruce Guthro and share many backstage moments filled with whisky, great conversations, and funny stories. Bruce was one of the first to publicly praise my music, and his words gave me the confidence to pursue my career.
I knew Bruce had been ill, but his strength and privacy about it were admirable. When I heard of his passing, I sat at my piano, played his songs, and wept.
When Industrien suggested a tribute concert, I hesitated at first. But remembering Bruce and hearing the words, "There is only one voice in the country that can do this," I agreed.
The audience can expect a blend of Bruce’s songs and Runrig classics, performed with intimacy and respect. I will also play his final song, Can I Get an Amen, along with an original piece in his memory.
This is Travellers – a journey from life to death, but in Bruce’s case, from death to life.
