Egg War Hamburg

Hamburg's biggest industorial area Billhorner Deich-Yamanote is sensing a rise of a new moevement. Eggs here are sentient and living among humans, but as children of chickens they are treated as second-class citizens. The eggs are rallying for more rights and even autonomy… Eierrechtsbewegung is in full swing!

"Egg War" is the one and only queer-egg musical performance created by the digital media artist Ko Kazu. The show combines theater performance and animation film, and explores the theme of minority rights and queer desire.

Awarded Clouds Hill Residency 2026, Kazu developed the new chapter of the show. Only tonight Kazu will bring a site specific egg situation here at Billhorner Deich. Beaware to witness the tears and sweat of the marginalized.

The show follows the personal journey of Momo, the first humanised egg. He was raised captive in a laboratory until his liberation by members of the Yamanote Egg Party, an interim government of eggs. Momo’s backstory inspires eggkind and he becomes a pivotal figure in the Egg Rights Movement. When the party meets his former captors, they learn the origins of humanised egg creation: a process mired in immigrant trauma and queer yearning.
