The ASME student chapter at the American University in Cairo is hosting #EFxCairo 2024 aimed at connecting with young engineering students in Egypt. The event focuses on enhancing practical skills, teamwork, and soft skills through technical competitions. It aims to instill enthusiasm for invention and creativity while preparing participants for the workforce through mentorship and brainstorming sessions.This year's event will explore innovative technologies for Natural and Humanitarian Disasters, featuring seminars, mentorship and brainstorming sessions, and competitions such as Innovative Additive Manufacturing 3D (IAM3D), Maneuvering a Vine Robot, and an Elevator Pitch event. For the IAM3D event, competitors are required to fabricate a hovercraft using additive manufacturing to navigate an obstacle course. Similarly for the Vine Robot, participants will operate a vine robot while carrying a 350g payload through a challenging path. While for the Elevator Pitch, participants must present creative solutions to engineering related problems under 90 seconds.
