A renowned singer of ‘Negro Spirituals’, a campaigner for the National Health Service and a member of the Socialist Medical Association, Edward's life embodies the Black Atlantic history of the Caribbean diaspora in the UK.

About the speaker:

Phil Vasili was born in London but grew up in Cambridge. He now lives back in Kentish Town, London very close to where he was born. As a boy he dreamed of becoming a professional footballer.
