Calling all educators who work with Pre-K-12 students! Learn how our bookstore can support your school, classroom, or programs.
About this Event

What exactly do we mean by the term educators? Well, at 18 August Ave, we consider educators to be anyone and everyone who works with Pre-K-12 students at an affiliated school, nonprofit, tutoring service, afterschool program, volunteer team, or literacy based organization where the goal of the staff is to expand the intellectual breadth of young people. So whether you’re a 4th grade math teacher, a community organizer who gets kids involved in volunteering, a part-time tutor, writing instructor, or the head of an entire school district, we want you to join us!

The evening will include: discussion on book fairs, book orders, opportunity to browse our collection, drinks, access to the newest children's and YA titles, as well as the opportunity to connect with other educators based in Brooklyn and the surrounding area. We would love to share how we can support your school or network. We would love to discuss about author visits, challenges that is you are currently facing and have a good time with educators and like minded people.

Our children’s bookstore, 18 August Ave, is a welcoming business dedicated to nurturing the love of reading and learning in children from newborn to middle school. 18 August Ave is a children's bookshop for families to find children's necessities, such as diverse books, but also find space to share and learn about health-related resources that speak to their lived experiences. We have a slogan: "Every child deserves the opportunity to read, play, and thrive," therefore, our bookshop supports families through books, events, and resources. We know how hard you work. This is our special way to say thank you and connect.

Your $20 ticket goes right back into supporting literacy and wellness programming into bringing a children's bookstore to Brooklyn.
