About this Event
Are you an educator looking to teach programming as part of hands-on projects in your classroom? This workshop is designed for educators who’d like to integrate micro:bit into their existing curriculum. Micro:bit is a physical computing device used by educators all over the world to teach programming using block coding in Python, circuitry, and sensors. Educators who teach grades 4 -12 are encouraged to participate in this workshop and learn how to use this extraordinary device to support STEM education. After the workshop, participants will be given resources to support their learning and implementation of Micro:bit into their curriculum.
The following topics are covered in this workshop:
- Set up a Micro:bit classroom and add students
- Program a Micro:bit using block coding
- Access existing projects in the Micro:bit library
- Use Micro:bit to collect data for school experiments
- Add functionality to 3D printed or laser cut objects using Micro:bit
- Test and evaluate the performance of designs in the engineering process
