In today’s classrooms, educators face the challenge of navigating technology, diverse learning needs, and pressing social justice issues, making relevant and practical professional development more essential than ever. The legacy of Robert H. Jackson—his commitment to justice, democratic values, and civil discourse during history’s most trying moments—offers a powerful model for addressing these challenges. This seminar will use Jackson’s speeches, writings, and cases to explore the evolution and meaning of citizenship, connecting past principles to contemporary debates. By engaging with his vision, educators will be equipped to foster critical discussions, bridge history with current events, and help students grow as informed and engaged citizens in pursuit of a just and equitable society.
