Adobe Photoshop is probably the most well-known and best digital imaging program on the market today. Its complexity, however, makes mastering it a long and painful challenge. What many people do not realize is that within Photoshop is another very powerful program. It's called Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). Adobe Camera Raw is much easier to learn and master when compared to Photoshop. And it is a fantastic tool for editing JPG, RAW, and TIFF.
The current version of Photoshop (which includes ACR) can be obtained through Adobe, but on a subscription basis only. The cost is about $10 per month. Please note that owning Photoshop is not a requirement for taking this seminar.
It should be mentioned that all images can benefit from at least some editing in a digital imaging program. At the very least, dark areas can be lightened and light areas darkened. In addition, colors can be improved, sharpness and contrast added, and distracting elements removed.
Further, I consider the editing of pictures to be just as important as the taking of pictures. Not only can the photos be improved, as mentioned above, but editing can transform them into something entirely different and unique. For myself, for example, if I spend three hours photographing a model, I’ll often spend three or four times that amount of time in Adobe Camera Raw. What I’m doing is interpreting each image I shot – applying my own style and vision.
You will receive a handout at the Meetup. It contains all the information presented during the session. Having the handout will allow you to spend less time taking notes in class and also provide a way to review at home what was taught at the Meetup.
We will be meeting in the café at the Glastonbury Barnes & Noble Bookstore. You will be able to recognize my table by the one or two portable monitors attached to my laptop computer.
Feel free to contact me with any questions. My cell phone number is 860-712-7098.
Please note that no refunds are allowed unless the seminar is canceled. Also, switching from one seminar to another is not allowed. I need to know the exact number of attendees in a seminar to determine whether or not I can afford to run it. Thanks.
By the way, I do 99% of my editing in Adobe Camera Raw without ever going into Photoshop itself.
