Edinburgh Street Stitchers Mending Circle

It's always easier to tackle your mending if you can do it in community. Join Edinburgh Street Stitchers for some social mending, a bit of a chat and to get some of your mending done while having a bit of fun too. All abilities welcome.

Bring along garments that you want to repair, we'll have needles, threads, scissors, patch fabric, etc. but feel free to bring your own if you have them.

The team are experienced in repair techniques and can provide advice for denims, knits, moth holes, patching, darning, needle felting, socks, hems, pulls, rips, zips, etc. Even if we've not seen anything similar before we can discuss suitable options based on our experience of similar fabrics and damage.

Also pick up a copy of Stitch It Don’t Ditch It- simple hand-sewn repairs to help you love your clothes for longer. You can also get your copy dedicated by one of the authors If you want.

Pop in at anytime with items from your mending pile, bring a cuppa if you'd like and join us for some relaxed mending fun.

If you can't stay but want advice about planning a repair, bring your garment along and we'll talk you through the options for creating a long lasting repair.
