About this Event
Welcome to the Edible Cardiff Final Celebration happening at St Peters Community Hall & Gardens on Friday September 27th, 17:00-20:00. Join us for a fun evening as we celebrate our successes and achievements over the past 3 years and look forward to what comes next.
You'll have a chance to walk around the beautiful gardens and see how they have developed over the years.
We will have inspirational guest speaker, Emma Williams founder of Wenvoe Flower Farm (www.instagram.com/wenvoeflowerfarm) and all round horticulture/garden/community growing champion and expert.
And of course, delicious food!
Choose from 2 informative workshops themed around preserving and fermenting your lovely produce:
Workshop 1 - Fermentation Fixation
Why not bring along a jam jar and have a go at making your own Sauerkraut with Laure from Absorb 'feed your health' - https://www.absorbhealth.org/home. Absorb is an independent small batch producer of Sauer kraut and water kefir, but also provides support on maintaining a healthy gut, learning and running one to one sessions on naturopathic nutrition. We'll provide the cabbages!
Workshop 2 - Preservation Revelation
Join Michele Fitzsimmons of Edible Landscaping - https://ediblelandscaping.co.uk/ to learn about techniques for preserving your harvest. Michele has worked with a range of individuals and communities to help them improve their environment and to create sustainable gardens and landscapes.
Michele will be explaining how to make fruit compote and preserves and how to dry and store fruit and veg. Tasters will be provided!
Meet fellow growers and garden enthusiasts and don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with like minded people to share your skills and knowledge and learn from others.
See you there!
