Edgbaston District Network Meeting - Summer Term 2024/25

The Birmingham Early Years Networks (BEYN) termly District Network Meeting (DNM) aims to provide local practitioners with the opportunity to share information and access professional development.

For 2024/25, following your feedback and suggestions, the BEYN will be offering networking and opportunities to share practice around key identified themes.

Each term, there will be:

• ONE in-person networking meeting in each district (limited places)
• ONE online cross-city networking meeting (unlimited places)
• ONE online cross-city information briefing (unlimited places)
• ONE online childminder-specific networking meeting (unlimited places)

Meeting topic(s): Supporting and including children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Sharing practical ideas and resources, with a solution-focused discussion to ensure all children in our district are included and supported.

What is a Steering Group?

Every district is run by a Steering Group that meets at least three times a year. The Steering Group is made up of representatives from across the Early Years community and childcare provision in the district who work together to support contact, communication, collaboration, and engagement across the sector.

Edgbaston district covers the wards of Balsall Heath West, Edgbaston, Bartley Green, Harborne, parts of North Edgbaston, Quinton and parts of Weoley and Selly Oak.

Steering Group representatives use the District Data Profiles, alongside any other local information, to develop an action plan that is focused on the children in the district.
