Eddie & The Edsel’s The Rock-n-Roll Capital’s #1 Oldies Review!

Eddie & the Edsels is Bill Morris (guitar, and vocals), Dan Morris (keyboards, bass and vocals), Tristan Morris (drums, guitar, vocals). At very young ages, Bill Morris was the guitarist for "Dave C. and the Sharptones" and Dan Morris performed with his group "Little W**d and the Gardeners". In the late 1960's they joined their musical talents and became "The Lively Ones".

Always successful in the Cleveland area music scene, the group was now moving into the 1970's when harder rock was becoming the rage. The brothers felt they needed a heavier, more Rock-n-Roll sounding name, and became "The Rapid Transit" with John Warren on drums and Bill Logus on lead vocals.

The Rapid Transit was the house band on the only nationally syndicated television show from Cleveland, called "The Upbeat Show". The show was seen in over 130 cities. During this time, they backed stars such as James Darrin, Anne Murray, Don Mclean, Bobby Sherman, Curtis Mayfield, B.B. King, Sly & the Family Stone, The Doors, Neil Sedaka, The McCoys, Kenny Rogers and Freddy Canon and many more. Having success with a national show, they decided to record and release the album "The Rapid Transit Sticks It In Your Ear". Freddy Canon personally wrote a song for them entitled "Strawberry Wine" which they performed on the Upbeat show. They also recorded and released 3 singles.

With the arrival of the disco era, the Upbeat Show was changed to a country format and was eventually cancelled. Changing with the times, the brothers then became established as "The Morris Bros." performing current dance music of the era and featuring female vocalists such as Jona Carol, Toni Michaels, Jan Gary, Judy Hunt, Jan Marie, and Debbie Day. Tristan, the youngest Morris brother was already gaining experience with the "Bubble Gum Band" and won the Schriner's Search for Stars. They also played for President Nixon. Tristan later played with the Carousel band for 3 years. In 1979, he joined his two brothers on drums.

In the 1990's, rap music was becoming a dominant force in the dance clubs. The Morris Bros. wanted to sing rather than rap. For them, it was the right time to return to their rock-n-roll roots from the 1950's and 1960's. Their alter ego Eddie & the Edsels which was created in 1974, overtook their top 40 act of the Morris Bros, however, recently some of the Morris Bros. top 40 material of the 1970's and 1980's has found its way back into their repertoire.

With 2 Las Vegas style shows and a huge repertoire of songs, they have been involved in the promotion of the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame and have performed shows for the Palace and State Theatres. Shows also have included, the Rock n Roll Rendezvous at Playhouse Square, Legends of the Rock-n-Roll Show at the Cleveland Convention Center, and co-headlining with Sonny Geraci at the Avalon Event Center. Eddie & the Edsels have also been featured at various casinos, resorts and fundraisers.
