Ed Bradley: Curious, Relentless, Timeless Mural Dedication
About this Event
First dedicated in 2018, Ed Bradley: Curious, Relentless, Timeless was later obscured by construction. Now, this historic tribute is returning to Bradley’s home of West Philadelphia through a collaboration between Lead Artist Ernel Martinez and the Ed Bradley Family Foundation.
Gather for food, community, and entertainment as we honor the legacy of a proud Philadelphian and mark three milestones: 50 years since Bradley became the first African American White House correspondent, the 20th anniversary of his death, and what would have been his 85th birthday.
Join Bradley’s neighbors, colleagues, and loved ones in celebrating Bradley’s life, and honor the importance of keeping our city’s Black history alive through public art.
About Ed Bradley
Bradley (1941–2016) began his career as a public school teacher and disc jockey at Philadelphia’s WDAS radio station. He went on to become the first Black television correspondent to cover the White House and spent 26 years as a correspondent on “60 Minutes,” earning dozens of prestigious journalism awards and anchoring his own broadcast, “CBS Sunday Night News with Ed Bradley.” His journalism career took him all over the world, but he remained a proud son of the City of Brotherly Love.
