Ecstatic Dance with Ezekiel Brooks, stage name Geovante. Geovante is a Half Black and Mexican producer, lyricist, and DJ. As a founding member of the Salt Lake City artist collective, the Jaguar Occult and a direct descendent of both Egyptian and Aztec Royalty (Ramesses III and Montezuma) he found his home playing and mixing an assortment of styles of dance music ranging from Global Bass, Global Turnup, Dirty House, Afro Tech House and has coined his style as Afro Mayan Disco.
“Geo” meaning earth and “Vante” meaning watcher, it has observed humanity’s wide array of sounds to mix and mash the music you experience to impact you at the deepest of levels.
Dance Schedule:
• 6-7pm Movement with Kiera
Opening Circle
• 7-9pm - Ecstatic Dance!
• 9-9:30pm - Live Music and Closing Circle
Admission is $20, cash or Venmo accepted at the door. Tokens are being accepted as well.
Guidelines for the Ecstatic Dance Container:
-No talking on the dance floor.
-No photography, video or tech in the dance room.
-No street shoes on the dance floor. If you don’t wish to dance barefoot, dance shoes are allowed.
-This is a substance free space!
-Consensual partner dancing and touch only.
