Ecstatic Dance Guidelines
Ecstatic Dance is a free-form movement journey that invites full expression while fostering a safe and welcoming space for everyone. Here are the core guidelines:
🙏 Respect the Space: The dance floor is a sacred space. Honor it by maintaining a mindful presence and being aware of others.
🤫 No Talking on the Dance Floor: Let your body do the communicating. Silence helps to deepen the dance experience and allows others to stay connected to the music and their movement.
🦶 Barefoot Movement: Dancing barefoot connects us more deeply to the earth and enhances the sensory experience. If necessary, wear light, non-marking shoes.
🚭 No Drugs or Alcohol: Ecstatic Dance is a sober experience to cultivate natural joy, connection, and expression without external substances.
🫂 Respect Boundaries: Consent is key. Dance with others only when there is a mutual agreement. If you're unsure, check for clear, non-verbal cues.
🥸 Come As You Are: Everyone is welcome regardless of age, background, or experience. Express yourself freely without judgment or expectation.
💃 Be Present: Allow yourself to fully engage with the music, movement, and moment. Leave phones, cameras, and distractions off the dance floor.
🥰 Supportive Environment: Create a supportive and non-judgmental space where all participants can feel safe to explore their movement.
These guidelines help create a respectful and harmonious environment, allowing everyone to fully immerse in the collective experience of Ecstatic Dance.
