ABOUT ECSTATIC DANCE
Ecstatic Dance is a freeform movement journey. We dance like no one’s watching to explore our self-expression, strengthen our embodiment, and grow with those around us!
Ecstatic Dances take place all around the world. Like many other chapters, Tulsa Ecstatic Dance aims to grow and support a community of healthy, authentically empowered people. Through music and dance, we believe everyone can discover, unleash, and enhance their individual potential to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. By listening to our bodies, letting go of expectations, and leaning into play, we can not only heal but have fun and connect with others to shape a consciousness that extends beyond our own. We join together in the simple and courageous act of freeform dance and co-create authenticity, movement, and community.

AGREEMENTS WE DANCE BY
- We dance sober: no drugs/alcohol
- We dance as if no one's watching: we let go of judgment of ourselves and others; cameras, phones and/or recording equipment is not allowed on the dance floor. Occasionally we will take pictures or videos for promotional use but will let everyone know before any recording takes place.
- We dance barefoot and
- We dance without talking
- We practice enthusiastic consent: clear, affirmative consent is needed before dancing with someone or touching them. We celebrate another’s “No” as a sacred “Yes” to themselves.
- We believe in inclusivity: love and respect for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, age, religion, disability, or any other kind of difference.
