ABOUT SHANTO:
Musical mystic, visionary and inspiration for so many. When Shanto is not at the feet of his teacher, we mostly see him behind the turntables conveying his love for music. In his sets, he manages to weave a wide variety of genres into one to leave the dancer in a pleasant stupor. Shanto is iconic for Ecstatic Dance and now he is saying-good-bye. On his farewell tour he will also visit Berlin.
Shanto was the first DJ who brought Ecstatic Dance to the Netherlands and made it a huge success at his Club Lite in Amsterdam. It triggered a dance wave far beyond the country's borders and can be experienced at more than 100 venues in the Netherlands alone. As a DJ, he has played in places as diverse as Barcelona, Moscow and Bali.
Shanto is also the organiser and DJ of Nataraj, the largest barefoot party in the Netherlands with which he has been travelling the country for 20 years. Its summer beach parties are legendary.
