Join us at Ecstatic Dance Sacramento as we welcome MARCEL!Ecstatic Dance Sacramento is a vibrant community gathering where we create a substance-free, non-verbal space for intuitive movement, self-expression, and connection. We welcome DJs from around the world to guide us on transformational dance journeys.
Our events are open to all ages and offer an alcohol- and substance-free environment, making it an inclusive and safe space for everyone.

About MARCEL:
Musician and dancer, born into a musical family, Sly & the Family Stone, Marcel was raised in a diverse background of sound. As a young teen he later entered the arts of dance (breaking and house), and dj’ing (disco and deep tech) at local parties.
As Marcel continued to learn of other styles of music and dance, his selection of music continued to expand, while becoming more refined for dj’ing these new genres, particularly with electronic and world music. As a musician, Marcel also occasionally performs live afro based percussion in his dj sets, adding an organic feel to his music curation for the dancer.
Marcel has Dj’d and danced at ecstatic dance events from Tulum to Haifa, from Tel-Aviv to Guatemala, from Nevada City to Sacramento, and is bringing new vibes from his global experiences to his music curation for his ecstatic dance dj sets.
As a dancer, Marcel looks for music that will inspire movement within the dancer and aims to curate sounds that accentuate the vocabulary of every dancer’s movement, wether it be salsa, belly dancing, Balkan, Senegalese, house, vogue, hustle, etc.
Over the years Marcel has had the opportunity to dj at events alongside notable artists such as Louie Vega, Osunlade, Nickodemus, Oveous, Juliet Mendoza, Kapela, Coflo, Nina Sol, Oscar P, Mr. V, Patrick Wilson,, Jayvi Velasco, and many others, has had the privilege to be the first resident Dj for Days Like This in Oakland, Open House in Los Angeles, and House Dance Sacramento, and has been cultivating his new event called “Dance to the Music,” which will center around dance.
