Ecstatic Dance Pittsburgh presents: Ecstatic Ultraviolet DreamzZz: A dance journey through an adventurous world of dreams.
Join us for a unique ecstatic dance that weaves a story of dreams together with ethereal synth beats, energetic house, and techno with unexpected instrumentation that plunge you in a watery world, blasts you off into outer space then transports you to a land of fantasy.
Ultra Violet DreamzZz is a celebration of adventure and embracing the unexpected, a night to shake off reality, dance freely, and express fully. Our dance floor will be flooded with blacklights for the majority of the dance and we encourage everyone to deck themselves out in fluorescent and glow in the dark attire! We will have some temporary tattoos and glow paint to spice up your look 😊
What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic Dance is a freeform, expressive movement practice where participants are invited to dance without choreography, allowing the music to guide them. It offers a unique, judgment-free space for physical exercise, emotional release, and creative expression. Beyond fitness, it provides a chance to connect deeply with oneself and others, fostering a sense of freedom, grounding, and community.
What to expect:
✨The evening starts with an opening circle led by Dani Grace, initiating a sacred space to set intentions and center ourselves.
✨You will then be led into a grounding somatic warm-up, awakening our connection to our bodies for the rhythmic journey ahead.
✨Prepare for a dynamic set curated by Dani and masterfully mixed by Turntablist DJ Psychostasia (aka Maya Kerostasia).
✨The evening winds down with a restful meditation as we fade away from our adventures in la-la-land and reconnect with our awake world.
✨This night invites you to "Come as you are and move as you please." and we welcome you both solo and dancing with consenting partners.
