On Saturday October 19th, join Ecstatic Dance LA and Alex King-Harris (aka Rara Avis) for a special evening of Ecstatic Dance at the beautiful RA MA Yoga Institute Studio in Santa Monica!Come drop-in to an inspiring movement experience and Ecstatic Dance journey with music and rhythms from around the globe, in a safe and welcoming space to dance, flow, groove, stretch, and connect with others.
EDLA Co-founder Atasiea will be opening the event with a Yoga & Movement warmup, followed by the multi talented DJ, Producer & veteran Ecstatic Dance music facilitator - Alex King, guiding the musical journey.

Known in the music world as Rara Avis (n. latin for Rare Bird), Alex is a dedicated master of his craft with over 20 years experience in live performance and music production with a core focus on where the electronic underground, yoga and ecstatic dance movements collide.
He has been in long time collaboration with Craig Kohland and Amani Friend on the Shamans Dream and Desert Dwellers/Liquid Bloom projects respectively. Together they created one of the most widely used contemporary yoga music libraries ever. Rara is also CEO and Founder of Yogi Tunes, an world wide online music service that provides top quality DJ driven soundtracks for yoga and other wellness activities.
Rara’s live sets are a mixture of guitar, vocals, and dj techniques that combine pre-produced original studio music with live electronic elements to create a truly original, shamanic, heart felt transmission of music for embodiment. Styles range across a multitude of genres including Ambient, Downtempo, World groove, African, Middle Eastern, East Indian, Tribal, Funk, House, and Hip Hop. Whether it be in a yoga class, on an ecstatic dance floor or at a festival – Rara’s sounds are guaranteed to take you on a journey of blissful re-entry into the soul.

Join Atasieá for movement practices incorporating mindfullness, yoga stretches, improvisation, partner exercises, and group ensemble activities- with an emphasis on mind/body/spirit connection. This experience is tailored to help individuals & groups warm up for a freeform ecstatic dance journey, in a playful explorative context.

Atasieá- 'Oneness' (aka Kenneth L. Ferguson) is a Healer, Performance artist, Martial Artist, Reiki Master, Theta Healer, Bodyworker, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, Minister, & Dancing Freedom Facilitator. He is the Co-founder/producer, resident facilitator, and healing arts practitioner of Ecstatic Dance Los Angeles. He has a healing arts Practice called “Angelic Presence Healing” doing massage, energy healing, teaching reiki, yoga instruction, and spiritual guidance counseling. As an intuitive healer he provides, physical, emotional, and psycho-spiritual support to all people through bodywork, Reiki, sound healing, channeling, conscious dance, and ceremonial facilitation.

This is about self-expression, freeing your mind and body, and connecting with yourself and those around you. No booze, no shoes and no chit-chat on the dance floor helps us keep it intentional. Amazing music helps us keep it all about Dance.

▸ Move your body however you wish
▸ Please refrain from talking on the dance floor
▸ Maintain care/awareness for the space and those around you
▸ This is a drug and alcohol free event
▸ No photos or videos; cellphones muted and out of sight
▸ Ecstatic Dance is a barefoot practice. (If you need to wear shoes due to health reasons, please note dance-specific shoes are allowed, but only shoes that have not been worn on the street)

1. Loose-fitting clothes that let you move your body and free yourself
2. Water and a water bottle. You can refill it at the venue.
3. Please leave other non essential items at home
