Ecstatic Dance in Lancaster

3:00 - 3:45 PM: Warm up / Collaborative Movement Workshop & Introduction to Ecstatic Dance: We will explore some integrative, guided and easy approaches for engaging with others. For many, an enjoyable and optional component to Ecstatic Dance is Collaborative Movement to include elements of Contact Improvisation. This is done with and without physical contact. We will begin with techniques on gentle approach and non-verbal communication for giving and receiving permission and safe space; build from there with open shape freeform leading and following, and single point contact with emphasis on maintaining the sacredness of your own dance experience in the presence of another.

3:50 to 5:30 PM: Opening circle - Dancing

This embodied musical journey, led by our DJ, Deep Earth, will invite you to drop down into yourself and let the music move you as we experience joy, connection, freedom and healing. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or new to the ecstatic dance scene, we welcome everyone to come celebrate life and movement. Move in whatever way feels good to you; dancing solo or with others is equally welcome.
