Only able to come for part of the event? No problem! We ask that you try to arrive by 3:30 for opening circle; otherwise, it's best to arrive during open dance!

to connect more fully with the ground (socks are ok!)
if a physical condition makes dance shoes necessary, no problem!

to be in a meditative state
no instruction from facilitators during open dance

we respect ourselves, each other, and the space
We Dance Consensually

Are children welcome? Yes!
During open dance, EDA is meant to be a wordless/quiet space, which is understandably challenging for some kiddos (and adults alike), so it can be helpful to explain that ahead of time. But we have had lots of young Ecstatic dancers in the past, and have never asked anyone to leave for talking!
