Theme: Honoring the Descent
Description: Honoring the Descent set is inspired by the energies of Autumn.
While observing the natural death, rot, and composting that occurs in the environment, one also can observe the life that survives, thrives, and is transformed. So too, are these cycles occurring within us.
The intention of the set is to invite inner reflectiveness, to inspire the honest recognition of what cannot survive within us into winter, and to nourish the strong seeds within us.
This set weaves together darker, nutritious/edgy bass and melancholic tones, as well as groovy juice, inspiring chords, and a lillll Scorpio energy spice :)
Bio: Katya has been in the OmCulture community since 2022, and has a deep resonance with the community and intentions of the space. When creating a set, she enjoys weaving together the energies preset within and externally to her. Dance has been immensely healing, transforming, a playground, a prayer ground, a cathartic space for Katya. She hopes to invite this energy in for others through sharing her musical expression.

Title: African Dance
Facilitator: Sarah Lee Parker
Description: Baba and Sarah Lee teach a variety of traditional dances from Guinea, Mali and Senegal, West Africa. You will find yourself enjoying the movements of these dances, as well as the workout it gives you. With their friendly "show and go" style of teaching, you will develop the strength, fitness and coordination needed to move and express yourself through these amazing and joyous African dances. In class, you will learn the movement vocabulary and rhythms that make up this beautiful art form and meet great like-minded people. Come out and give it a try, you will LOVE IT!
