Scientists have identified more than 1 million species of insects globally—including 12,500 in Florida alone—and estimated that accounts for just one-fifth of the world's total. Learning more about insects is vital, as they are essential for the proper function of all ecosystems, serving as food for other creatures, pollinators, nutrient recyclers, and more. Join us to learn more about our local insects. Please register for this event ONLY at ufsarasotaext.eventbrite.com rather than any third party websites, as they are not affiliated with our classes and events.
Join our UF/IFAS Extension agent and resident "Bug Lady," Carol Wyatt-Evens, on a tour through the park while we learn interesting facts about insects, as well as how to collect, identify, and appreciate all the six-legged crawlers among us.
Most appropriate for ages 12 and up.
Instructor: UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County educator
