During this 4-part course, learn about the plants, animals, and geologic makeup of local ecosystems near northern Delaware. Enjoy lectures and field trips related to Oak-Hickory Forest, Serpentine Barrens, Meadows, and Freshwater Marsh. Lectures are online and field trips will follow up each lecture. We will meet at the field trip locations. Explore the botany and birds of each of these locations as ways to define the ecosystems. Learn the natural history of some of these organisms and how they interact within the ecosystems. During field trips, we will seek out the specific and special birds and plants that are unique to the four ecosystems we are focusing on for this class.
Zoom Lectures June 16, July 14, August 11, and August 25. Field Trips June 19, July 17, August 14, and August 28.
