Join fellow prairie enthusiasts for a four‑month exploration of local native prairies. Each tour highlights a different site and a different stage of the growing season, offering participants a rare chance to see how prairies shift, change, and thrive from early summer through fall. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn from experts while observing prairie plants, wildlife, and management practices across the growing season.
Each tour begins at 10:00 a.m. A guided walk will be provided, followed by free time to explore independently. A $20 registration fee includes access to all four tours in the series. Space is limited.
2026 Prairie Tour Schedule
June 17 – Fairmount Cemetery Prairie, Davenport, Iowa
July 15 – Munson Cemetery Prairie, Cambridge, Illinois
August 26 – Scott County Roadside
September 16 – Brownlee Cemetery Prairie, Mercer County
Illinois Extension is pleased to partner with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach to bring this series to our communities.
