Hosted at the beautiful Atlanta History Center, ecoBenefête 2021 includes live music, conversation, award presentations, and more! Guests will also enjoy a silent and live auction with an array of specially curated items including art, outings, and unique experiences, all benefitting our work to protect Georgia’s natural resources, now and forever.
The Georgia Conservancy's premier annual gala, ecoBenefête, honors an exceptional steward of Georgia's natural resources with the Distinguished Conservationist award. This year, we are proud to present the Distinguished Conservationist award to former City of Atlanta Mayor, the Honorable Shirley Clarke Franklin.
From her courageous, effective leadership of the Clean Water Atlanta initiative addressing critical infrastructure needs to make the city greener and more sustainable, to addressing urban policy and planning issues, to her ongoing commitment to holistic neighborhood revitalization efforts focusing on local works to address larger pervasive issues like climate change, Mayor Shirley Franklin has made a noteworthy effect on Georgia’s lands and waters.
At this year’s ecoBenefête, the Georgia Conservancy’s Generation Green is also pleased to present Yeou-Rong Jih with the Longleaf Award in recognition of her tireless work to forward and enhance sustainability and conservation in the City of Atlanta. The Longleaf Award annually celebrates an emerging environmental leader in metro Atlanta.
*Guests will be required to have full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test returned no less than 72 hours prior to the start of the event.
