About this Event

Eco-Stewardship Invasive Learning at Cannonburg State Game Area

Join us on January 20th, 2025 for a day of environmental stewardship at Cannonburg State Game Area in Ada, MI. This event will take place from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the Dursum Parking Lot in the North Unit (3994 Dursum Avenue Northeast, Ada, MI 49301).

Location: Lat/Long: 43.035838, -85.490425

We will be focusing on removing and managing invasive species, which threaten local plant life and disrupt natural habitats. These aggressive species crowd out native plants, reduce biodiversity, and harm the delicate balance of the ecosystem. By tackling these invasive plants, we will help restore and protect the natural beauty of the state game area.

To accommodate everyone’s schedules, we are offering two volunteer slots:

  • Morning Shift: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Afternoon Shift: 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Feel free to join or leave us at any time during the day!

No experience is necessary—whether you're a seasoned conservationist or new to environmental work, we welcome all volunteers. Tools and equipment will be provided for the day, and expert guides will be on hand to walk us through the removal process. Please bring your enthusiasm for nature and clothes that can handle some dirt!

This is a great opportunity to contribute to the health of the local environment and make a meaningful impact on the land. Together, we can help protect and restore the natural beauty of Cannonburg State Game Area.

We look forward to seeing you on January 20th!
