Eco Rotary Genki Ball 2023

Join Eco Rotary Club of Kaka'ako in our 2nd annual Genki Ball event. We are partnering with Genki Ala Wai Project to help make 5,000 genki balls and drop them into the canal.

Genki Balls are mud balls that contain fermentative bacteria that digests & oxygenates the sludge. The goal of the project is to make the Ala Wai canal fishable and swimmable by year 2026.

Donate $5 per ball (or more!) and you'll be able to make your own genki ball. It will take 3 weeks for the fermentation process. You are then welcome to join us again on April 1 to toss your ball into the Ala Wai.

Our Saturday event is located at Waikiki-Kapahulu Public Library's lawn fronting the Ala Wai canal.

We will be there from 9am - 12:30pm.

We look forward to you joining us in cleaning up the Ala Wai!
