ECMage research network BSMB satellite event

This will be an in-person event with an online attendance option (at a minimum subsequently sharing recordings of the main session).

The Extracellular Matrix ‘Ageing across the life course’ interdisciplinary research network (ECMage) has been established with funding from the BBSRC and MRC. The network is a partnership between the Universities of Liverpool, Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham and Newcastle University.

The ECMage network focusses on the ageing of extracellular matrix (ECM), a major structural & functional determinant of tissue resilience with remarkable tissue specificity. The ECMage network brings together a diverse membership in terms of career stage and expertise in key aspects of ageing, matrix biology, chronobiology, AI/computational modelling and tissue engineering across UK to develop novel models to study ECM ageing, particularly 3D biological models, new biomaterials to mimic tissue-specific ECM and in silico models to predict novel anti-ageing therapies.

ECMage is hosting a network event as a satellite of the British Society for Matrix Biology (BSMB) meeting which is taking place from 12th - 14th September 2022 in Liverpool, UK (https://bsmb.ac.uk/meetings/). The satellite will take place on the morning of Tuesday 13th September 2022 and is expected to include talks from academic and industrial network members, as well as a 'sandpit' session to facilitate bids for ECMage network pump-priming funding, which will follow the event.
