Wait, Love, Earth, and Death? All in one evening? Yes, we know it sounds heavy, but we promise it’s actually going to be a gorgeous, intimate, and deeply soul-refreshing Friday night in West Village.
We are Almost Quintet (a chamber trio that is, indeed, almost a quintet—math is hard, but making music is our specialty!). For this special NYC tour, we’re bringing together something you rarely hear on the same stage: the brilliant, underrepresented voices of Black and Chinese composers.

The Cutting Contest from the Scott Joplin Movie (1977) arranged by Peiyao Yu
🔥 Aug 14 Exclusive Bonus:
Notice The Cutting Contest at the end of the program? This piece is solely reserved for our Aug 14 ticketed show! Our pianist and organist Peiyao Yu poured so much effort into arranging it. It’s an absolute blast—so rhythmically infectious that you can literally tap your feet, dance, or drum along in your seat!
💡 Why $15?
Because in New York City, $15 usually gets you an iced matcha latte with oat milk and tip. We think live, passionate chamber music in a historic West Village church should be just as accessible as your daily caffeine fix.
No tuxedo required. No pretentious vibes. Come as you are.
Can't make it to this specific date? No worries, we’ve got you covered!
Almost Quintet is hosting four different concerts across NYC for this summer tour! Each concert features a slightly different program, so there’s always something new to experience.
