Join us for a playful, multisensory workshop that looks at the relationship between body and space - Sunday, 21 April 2024.
About this Event

How do spaces shape the ways in which we breathe, move, and create?
Through various tactile art making exercises, breathing techniques, and exchange through conversation, art therapist Asareh Ebrahimpour invites us to pay close attention to our somatic and emotional responses to the spaces we move through, forging a meaningful link between architecture and the human body: our first home and refuge.
In dialogue with Alserkal Art Foundation's 2024 Public Art Commission, This is Not A Grave ,by artist and architect Dima Srouji, the workshop meditates on the three site-specific architectural interventions dotted across the Avenue: the Hearth, the Library, and the Sanctuary, reimagining each structure as a body in its own right.
Date: Sunday, 21 April 2024
Time: 4PM - 7PM
Location: Wh51, Common Room, Alserkal Arts Foundation

Asareh works in various mediums but her primary focus is on pure improvisation & trusting senses, challenging the conventions of traditional forms of visual art. The primary tool in this process is her body which guides her to draw. The fusing of Asareh’s art and dance has allowed her to express herself in a singular manner in which the iterative exchange of these processes and divergent forms synthesize to allow her to express her inner vision to outer reality.
