In conjunction with the museum’s current exhibit, Echoes of Expression: The History of Arts & Culture in Winter Park, we are proud to present our first Pop Up event featuring four well-known Winter Park artists. “Echoes | 4 Artists of Winter Park” will highlight the work of four of the city’s best known contemporary artists: Don Sondag, Lynn Whipple, John Whipple, and the late Grady Kimsey. The Pop Up begins on Friday, November 14, from 5 – 8 p.m. with an evening reception featuring complimentary beer/ wine and light bites. The following day, November 15, the work of the four artists will continue to be for sale during the museum’s normal Saturday hours, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Don Sondag grew up on the Winter Park Chain of Lakes and he graduated from Rhode Island School of Design, studied portraiture at the National Academy of Design and at the Art Student League in New York City.
Wife and husband Lynn and John Whipple, veterans of the outdoor art show circuit, live in a beautiful lakefront home on Lake Killarney. The have been an integral part of the McRae Street Art Studios community since its inception.
Orange County art legend Grady Kimsey’s work is represented by Kim Sumner of Fine Arts 807. The much-loved teacher and sculptor passed away in July, and we are privileged to be able to display his work.
Join us for this unique event and take home a piece of Winter Park’s artistic legacy.
