Adriana & Zjoso
The long-standing resident of the beach returns to throw down with another pillar of the Naarm scene, Tribqu bossman Zjoso. Ever since their first, fabled booty2booty session we haven’t been able to stop Adriana from yapping about how exciting their musical connection is. Irreverent slights aside, it’s a rip-snorter. Two of our favourites in the city, an indomitable NRG and stacks of rekkids to riff on. It’s authentic meets legit.
Babycino
The beautiful Boochie bad~boi Baby C! Babycino is gathering fans at a breakneck pace with his essential Reasons to be Cheerful slot on Skylab, his much loved Brekky Spread fills and several deeply memorable d-floor melting moments at Spasta, Daybreak, last years Echo Beach and his recently launched RTBC party. With a forthcoming EP and a slew of festival slots for the summer, Babycino is gonna continue to turn floors on their head with one the deepest bags in the game.
Bufiman (GER ~ live)
Diskoking, Burnhart McKoolski, Goofyman, Jan Schulte, Wolf Müller - Bufiman. A man with that many aliases points to an expansive body of work and an appetite for the eclectic. Expect the leftfield chugs, the off-kilter rhythms and the oddball ecstasy we’ve come to love from a Bufiman live show, the first we’ve seen on our shores in a very long time.
Colette
One of the stalwarts of the Naarm scene for longer than most can remember, Colette is one of the characters that keep everything moving. A music obsessive, she’s got deeeeep bags and you’ll never hear the same set twice.
Kenji Takimi (JPN)
Kenji Takimi has been at the coalface of all things cool in dance music for over 20 years. His label Crue-l Records and his Crue-l Grand Orchestra project have been hot ticket discs for heads with their head screwed on straight from the very minute they hit the streets. Kenji is, without exaggeration, something of a wizard. Both in the booth and the studio he puts down some deep cuts that dig deep into the dancing soul and we couldn’t be more excited to finally have him at the beach.
Mim Suleiman & w/ DJ JNETT (live)
This is one we’re very excited to be cooking up. Enlightened ears will remember Mim’s Meredith and RISING performances from recent years, her music and aura are a shot in the vein, charging with energy, soul, and elation. In a never-before-seen hybrid live show with the biggest smile in Melbourne and our most vital, longstanding, and cherished luminary - JNETT - holding onto your hat is very recommended. This is one to blow the roof clean off.
Pender Street Steppers (CAN)
Two dood’s who positively ooze the energy of Echo Beach, the Penders have been responsible for great feelings on the d-floor both in Naarm and across the world for a looooong time. Jack J and Liam Butler do it right, pumping out the beautiful sounds of the Canadian Riviera wherever they next land, dispatching deep digs from all the warm and fuzzy genres you love to hear down by the Beach.
Poli-Pearl
Poli-Pearl is quickly becoming one of our favourite selektas in the city spinning a delicious and legit array of hip~hop, house, street soul and all the tasty morsels in between. It’s not just the selections that tickle the dancing feet so much, it’s the manner in which she slots ‘em all in to a set that keeps you precisely where you should be - on your toes.
Prins Thomas (NOR)
The indisputable king of the diskomiks! Prins Thomas is the author of so many of the best cosmic, wonky, proggy, nu~disco joints that you ever did hear thrumming in your drum. A bonafide legend of the game + it’ll be his first session down under in quite a minute. Yessir yessir!
Suze Ijó (NL)
Suze knows how to put soul into dance music, combining new ideas with a proper old school crate digger mentality. It’s elegant, effortless and deeply conductive, generating warmth and energy all over the floor.
