A cross-sector roundtable for counter fraud professionals and risk and compliance leaders
About this Event

The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA) introduced a new ‘failure to prevent fraud’ offence. For the first time, an organisation may be criminally liable where an employee, agent, subsidiary undertaking, or other ‘associated person’, commits a fraud intending to benefit the organisation and the organisation did not have reasonable fraud prevention procedures in place.

Join the Aston Fraud Research Group (FRG) for a free, engaging face-to-face event bringing together anti-fraud professionals and risk and compliance leaders from across sectors to discuss the implications of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA), the growing challenge of fraud risk and to share best practice on how to combat fraud.

Speakers include:

  • Dr Rasha Kassem (FRG Lead)
  • Stuart Wills ( FRG Impact Partner & Head of Risk & Assurance, Aston University)
  • Martin Polaine (FRG Impact Partner & Barrister, Amicus Legal Advisors)

This interactive session will provide an opportunity to share insights, discuss common challenges, and explore how organisations can strengthen their approaches to fraud prevention and compliance under ECCTA.

The event is free to attend, and a light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
