About this Event

WHAT IS EBM?

EBM is a movement and sound meditation experience aimed at deepening your connection with self, by placing an emphasis on releasing pent up emotions stored in the body. In music EBM is traditionally known as Electronic Body Music. Here, we shifted it to Emotional Body Music. The Emotional Body is the bridge between the physical and the mental, representing our feelings and relationships toward all things. You are an emotional body and coming to a space that caters to your emotions is a great way to strengthen this bridge.

The EBM experience came from a desire to create a container to help inspire those who don’t have a mindfulness practice. We both come from environments where meditation and sound therapy are seen as taboo and so we created EBM to address this and gently shift people’s perspectives to a more open and positive one. We hope to create a community who meditate, move and experience music in a more intentional way addressing whatever may come up. The goal of EBM is to help you get out of your head and back to your body, strengthening your mind body connection.

We are Earleen and Tomás, the creators of EBM, a wellness and active/deep listening event centered around Movement, Mindful Meditation and sound therapy/healing. Our passions include music and movement as artistic forms of expression.

Earleen is a certified yoga and meditation teacher trained in Tibetan Buddhist teachings. She has always been an advocate for movement and mindful practices. She organically fell into yoga when she found solace through her daily routine stretches. She uses movement as a tool to release her emotions, deepening her connection with self. She has completed her 200HR Yoga certification with Atmananda Yoga and her Meditation Teacher Certification with Three Jewels. Earleen is also pursuing Katonah yoga training and her Certification and is continuing her 300HR. Earleen is originally from Paterson, NJ and her ultimate goal is to make healing accessible in her community.

Tomás is an electronic music producer and songwriter of Puerto Rican Irish descent. After discovering meditation and its benefits he began utilizing his sound design and composing background to create music that helps facilitate meditations. After experiencing several ceremonies and guided meditations in music, he felt there was a space for electronic music meditators. He incorporates his background in techno and live acoustic music to create a natural blend between both worlds. Writing new pieces for each event.
