Ruffino's Annual "Eat the Competition" Dinner Returns to Kick Off LSU Football Season

Five-course dining experience with wine pairings and LSU football insider conversation

BATON ROUGE, LA — Ruffino's Restaurant is bringing back its beloved annual tradition, Eat the Competition, on August 30, 2026, from 6–9 p.m. at 18811 Highland Road, Baton Rouge.

The evening is a celebration of two of Louisiana's greatest passions — exceptional food and LSU Tigers football. Guests will enjoy a chef-crafted five-course meal with curated wine pairings, alongside special guests from the LSU football world who will offer their preview of the upcoming season. It's the perfect way for Tigers fans to gather, raise a glass, and get fired up before the first kickoff.

The tradition runs deep at Ruffino's. The late founder Ruffin Rodrigue was himself a former LSU lineman and All-SEC guard, and for decades the restaurant has been a gathering place for the Baton Rouge community to celebrate their Tigers.
