About this Event
Think leftovers are boring? Think again! In this fun, interactive Great Unwaste workshop, you’ll discover how small changes in the kitchen can add up to big savings for your wallet—and the planet.
Join Andrea Ball from The Green Gourmet, to learn how to cook just the right amount, serve smart portions, and create delicious 'leftover makeovers.' We’ll cover simple storage tips to keep food safe and tasty, plus creative ways to use up what’s already in your fridge or freezer.
We’ll break for a delicious morning tea made from rescued food ingredients—more proof that unwasting can taste amazing. And to keep the fun flowing, there’ll be a fabulous unwasting door prize to be won.
Hands-on activities will help you build confidence to reduce waste every day. By the end, you’ll see leftovers as an opportunity to save, create and enjoy.
This workshop forms part of The City of Onkaringas partnership with The Great Unwaste, a national campaign to reduce food waste. Read more about the what, why and how of the campaign in the FAQs below.
